September
The Beginning
(part 1)
Well, how should I start... September was a month of new discovery. Thrown into a foreign land we had only each other to depend on for the year. Sounds difficult? Yea,

it was, but the big guy up there gave us some help.
Introducing Mr Yun or Tony. We seriously thought he would be a middle aged man, perhaps in a suit with some heavy cologne or aftershave, but to our surprise he looks no younger than any of us. He is a kind, humble and has very good command of English (better than some high ranked people
here). Mr. Yun works in the Student Resource Center in Silla Univeristy. His job? Well let just say he is like a big brother to the exchange students here. As we left the airport, Mr Yun gave us a brief introduction about Korea, Busan and the University as well as the formal docs we need to do. He was enthusiastic and lively. Funny thing happened before. Somehow or another, both parties got different information. We ended up waiting in the airport for an hour, wondering why there wasn't anyone to get us. Later we learned that Mr Yun was waiting for us for an hour as well, but in another terminal. We arrived in the Domestic terminal (since we took the flight from Seoul to Gimhae) while Mr Yun waited in the International terminal ( assuming we would fly directly from KL) The picture here is the staff canteen where he brought us for our (free) lunch.
After lunch he brought us to our dorm. I guess I've posted the picture of the dorm in the previous posts. Anyways, we got some documentation done and later had a good rest in our rooms. Sorry no picture of the room yet (Its kinda in a mess now). But below is a pic of the canteen.

From now on I will just ramble on the things I've done during the busy new month of September. Guess it would be more interesting this way.
During this period is was still the fasting month and Raya celebration was just a few days away, so what better way to acknoledge Raya in Korea by hunting down the nearest mosque. And with luck, I found one.

Thing is its the only one in this metropolitan city, and its about and hour by subway from my uni. Oh well...
The mosque is located in Dusil dictrict. We had to change lines in the city center and walk for 5 minutes there. Its a small mosque, white yet very similar to those back home. Gave me a nostalgic memory of home. The people there greeted us ( I think they were Indonesians, but they spoke bloody good Korean ). They showed us around the mosque compound. There was a small nursery or rather kindergarten there as well as a miniature playground. The entire area was shadowed by huge trees which gave it a cool feel despite the hot noon of summer. Guess I found where to come for Raya^^.
... to be continued
