Long Time Gone
Frentic and heartless life may seem,
Enjoy your time is none in between,
Years disappear gone so fast,
Hold on to all you have and make it last
Conciously unaware of threatening lies,
Many thoughts flash before your eyes,
Times were tough, had to fil the larder,
Perhaps sometimes we could have tried harder.
Children grow quickly and drift away,
Some come back just to say 'g'day,
If by some chance we could have our live overs,
Yes, we would know it is not all honey and clovers,
As we look back we have stood the test,
Now it is time for a bloddy good rest.
(n.d.)
After going through some of my 'junk' at home, I found a piece of torn paper which had this written on it. I wrote it down when I was in highschool and reading it again made me realize that i'm undeniably, surely getting older and no longer the child I used to be.
